In 1996, a group of fitness centre owners got together to discuss the status of their business. The end result has been life time friendships, increased profitability of the businesses and professional development that has allowed the owners to make more money and work less hours!
Justin Tamsett, an original member of the Round Table program, was so impressed that in 2003, he became Australia’s first REX™ Round Table facilitator.
Since 2003, the following Round Tables in the fitness industry have started:
- Australian Fitness Round Table - AFR
- Australia Club Owners Round Table - ACORT
- Australian Personal Trainers Round Table - PTRT
- South Australian Round Table – SART
- Round Table Western Australia – RTWA
- NSW Round Table – NSWRT
- Retention Round Table – RRT (launching late 2007)
- New Zealand Round Table – NZRT (launching 2008)
The powerful aspects of Round Table are:
- Continuity – members make a commitment to attend each meeting
- Understanding – Everyone on your Round Table is from the same industry
- Trust – There are no competitors on the same Round Table
- Focus – You all share the same goal – make more money!
- Experience – You have up to 14 others who are going through (or been through) the same challenges as you and give you quality assistance
- Social – You have informal discussions during a Round Table that are just as informative and educational as the formal discussions
- Accountability – during and after meetings you are held accountable for results.
Who should you join a Round Table? This is for you, if:
- You make the decisions in the business
- You are dramatically improving your business, or wish to.
- You are open to learning how to better manage and lead your business.
Wondering if you should join a Round Table, do this simple self analysis.
