  About Peter Conroy

Born in London England, brought up in Kenya East Africa, Australia and New Zealand, Peter also lived in Japan and he considers himself truly a resident of the world rather than of any one country.

Peter ConroyPeter first took up gym at 16 when he was the youngest player ever to be selected in the New Zealand National Men's Volleyball team. He went on to represent New Zealand for many years as a player and later as a coach. Standing only 5 feet 7 ½ inches tall (172cms) Peter trained to increase his vertical jump and at age 18 could dunk volleyball on a basketball ring. This showed Peter the power of weight training and what could be achieved. He has been hooked ever since and Peter believes nothing is unachievable.

Peter has played and coached all his life and currently plays squash (racquet ball) twice per week and undertakes four personal training sessions per week.

After successfully managing Fitness centers and recreation centers for others, he decided seven years ago to buy his own club. Transforming the run down club from 400 members to 2000 in only six months, Peter proved that a passion for service and excellence has a place.

Peter was the inaugural President of Fitness South Australia, a division of Recreation South Australia, and is currently on the Board of Recreation South Australia and Fitness South Australia. He has also served on the Board of Fitness Australia.

Peter received an award in 2004 for his contribution to the fitness industry by Recreation South Australia.

Peter runs his own consulting business PAC Conroy consulting and currently chairs Australia's first State based Fitness Round Table, Adelaide Fitness Centers Roundtable. He resides in Adelaide, South Australia.
